Description
Retinol 1% in Squalane offers a water-free solution containing 1% retinol—an ingredient that improves the appearance of fine and dynamic lines that arise from a loss of collagen and elastin, while evening skin texture and tone. What’s more, this expert-level formula is supported with squalane, a moisturizing agent naturally found in your skin that enhances surface-level hydration and helps combat the dryness that can be associated with retinol use.
The Ordinary Tip: Start with Retinol 0.2% in Squalane and slowly work your way up to Retinol 0.5% in Squalane and Retinol 1% in Squalane. That said, if you are prone to sensitivity, you may prefer to use newer retinoid technologies, such as those found in our Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion.
Note: Once opened, this formula should be refrigerated and used within a three-month period.
Caution: Retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. Sun protection is particularly important when using retinoids. This product must not be used in conjunction with other retinoids including retinol or retinoic acid. This product is not a treatment for acne

I love all products from this brand, everything they make is simple in ingredients, affordable, and never irritates my skin. This retinol is great, I will say PLEASE make sure to do your research before starting retinol because the wrong strength can cause your skin to peel and get dry. This product is the highest percentage you can get it, the ordinary’s website tells you just about everything you need to know under the product description and they offer a lower percentage for people just starting retinol. If you are wondering if this product is right for you, they also have a feature on the website where you tell them your skin issues and they recommend products to you it’s cool to play around with. For me personally, I use this with the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum and it does pill a bit on my face if I don’t let my serum soak in before using the retinol but that’s my only complaint and I just wipe the pills off lightly with a face cloth and finish with the ordinary moisturizing factors lotion.
