Men between the ages of 19 and 70 need 1000 mg of calcium per day, while men over 71 need 1200 mg per day. Women between the ages of 19 to 50 need 1,000 mg of calcium per day and those over 50 need 1,200 mg per day.4 The Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) of calcium for men and women over 18 years of age is 2,500 mg per day.
